Creativity that creates business

The Prodigal Media Company, Inc., is a marketing communications firm located in Ohio. Our approach to the work we do on behalf of our clients is conveyed in our value proposition: Creativity that creates business.

David Ogilvy, the father figure of modern marketing, was a proponent of creativity. Still, he warned: “If it doesn’t sell, it isn’t creative.” Mr. Ogilvy understood how easy it is to abuse the role of creativity in marketing communications by making it an indulgent end unto itself.

We agree. And respectfully add: “If it isn’t creative, it probably won’t sell.”

In a world glutted with product and service promises, creativity - in strategies and tactics - has the power to galvanize a consumer or prospect's attention.

The crux is that creativity must be fueled and focused by a strategy that has the sole objective of advancing the client’s interests, usually measured in terms of the amount of products and services sold.

At Prodigal Media we have cultivated a corporate culture in which our only measure of success is our impact on the client’s interests.

For this reason, Prodigal Media:

  1. has a policy against entering advertising awards competitions;

  2. bases employee performance reviews in significant part on the connection between the employee’s efforts and their respective client’s results and feedback.

Creativity provides the visible pillars of our corporate philosophy. A commitment to client service and value is its foundation. We always ask our clients what they want and expect from their marketing communications firm.

The key components of customer service and value most frequently cited by our clients are:

  1. on-time delivery;

  2. fair pricing, integrity of estimating and transparent billing;

  3. respect for the client’s day-in and day-out understanding of their industry and their position as the party who pays the bills, balanced by the marcom firm's obligation to be honest in its assessments of the client’s challenges and strategies;
  4. no over-promising and no under-delivering;
  5. understanding that a marcom firm is not just paid to create marketing materials, but to make the client’s life easier and their business better.

We integrate these principles into our relationships with all of our clients, adapting or adding to them based on a specific client’s requirements and preferences.
